The Italians are in the market for a prolific striker and are looking to sign a forward of Nigerian descent should their primary target fail to walk in through the doors of the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara
Bologna will turn their attention to bringing Chelsea forward Ike Ugbo to Italy should they fail in their bid to sign former West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic.
The Red and Blues are pulling all the stops to complete the signing of the Shanghai SIPG forward but are buckling at the transfer fee being demanded by the Chinese side.
SIPG acquired the Austrian striker for €25 million from West Ham two years ago and are keen to recoup a significant fraction of that figure before sanctioning his move back to Europe.
Bologna are negotiating a much lower fee for the 32-year-old but are keeping their options open should the deal fail to go through.
And according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo is one of the alternatives the Rossoblu management are keeping under close watch.
Ugbo, 22, found the back of the net 16 times in the Belgian top-flight last season for Cercle Brugge while on loan from Chelsea.
His excellent performances have alerted several clubs to his talent, and he is reportedly being trailed by the likes of PSV and Besiktas, with Genk leading the race for his services.
