Transfers: Wolfsburg could make a move for Nigeria’s Eligible Dutch star

The Wolves want to strengthen their attack as they make a return to Europe’s biggest club competition next season and also compete in the Bundesliga

Wolfsburg have shown an interest in signing Arnaut Danjuma from Bournemouth. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Wolfsburg are considering bringing in Danjuma to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Wolfsburg finished fourth in the German Bundesliga last season and will compete in the Champions League next campaign.

Danjuma will add more firepower to their attack. The 24-year-old is a man in high demand after scoring 15 times in 33 Championship games for Bournemouth last season.

The former Club Brugge attacker was born in the Netherlands but he is also eligible to play for Nigeria through his mother.

He has two caps for the Dutch team, but he revealed recently he could switch international allegiance after he was omitted from Oranje’s Euro 2020 squad.

“I’ve heard some bits about Nigeria, but I can’t say too much about it, though. My mum is Nigerian, and my father lived 23 years in Nigeria as well,” Danjuma told Bournemouth Echo.

“The culture is still within the family, so it does not disregard for the Nigerian side. It’s a choice I will think about, but I need some time, obviously.

“I think they are interested, but obviously, I play for the Dutch national team already, I scored for the national team already, so I’ve made that decision.

“With the choice, I would like to represent Holland as well, but then again, I’m not being called up at the moment. So on the back of that, maybe I need to make some decisions.

Danjuma has two caps for Holland and has scored one goal, which came in a 1-1 draw against Belgium.
