The Turkish top-flight only just concluded the 2020/21 campaign, but some clubs have already started making preparations for next season
Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor have been linked with the signing of exciting Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.
Trabzonspor endured an uninspiring 2020/21 season that saw the club finished fourth in the league while boasting the least prolific attack in the top ten.
32-year-old Nigerian international Anthony Nwakaeme scored seven of the Black Sea Storms’ 50 goals.
And 20-year-old Boniface, who is currently on the payroll of Norway’s Bodo Glimt, is one of the players being considered to add bite to Trabzonspor’s forward line, as per HaberLodi.
Boniface will jump at the chance to leave Glimt for regular playing time in Turkey after falling out of favour at the Norwegian champions.
The Nigeria U-20 star scored six goals in 24 matches as Bodo Glimt powered to a historic Norwegian league crown late last year.
But the youngster expected to feature more prominently for Kjetil Knutsen’s side following the departure of free-scoring Danish striker Kasper Junker (27 goals in 25 matches) to Japanese side Urawa Reds.
That has, however, not been the case with Boniface yet to appear in any of Glimt’s first three league games.
Boniface joined the Norwegian giants in 2018 and has just one year left on his contract with the side.
