The Nigerian international has been in superb form lately, but he was not among the goals as Gennaro Gattuso’s men secured a comprehensive victory
Victor Osimhen was impressive as Napoli handed Udinese a 5-1 thrashing at the Diego Maradona Stadium to boost their top-four hopes.
Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring for Gennaro Gattuso’s men and then set up the second for Fabian in the opening half-hour, but Stefano Okaka Chuka pegged them back late in the half.
Napoli then went wild in the second half, scoring thrice through Hirving Lozano, Lorenzo, and Insigne to punish the hapless visitors.
Strangely, Osimhen was not among the goals despite spending 73 minutes on the pitch.
The Nigerian youngster had been in imperious form for Napoli of late, scoring five goals in his last four Serie A matches.
During this period, the 22-year-old became Napoli’s joint-highest scoring African in the Italian Serie A following his brace in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Spezia on Saturday.
Osimhen, who scored 13 Ligue 1 goals last term for Lille, has ten Serie A goals to his name in only his maiden campaign in the Italian top-flight.
Tuesday’s victory boosts Napoli’s hopes of finishing in the UEFA Champions League places.
