The Nigerian forward’s excellent campaign got even better on Monday night
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has won the two most important awards at the Belgian Pro League Awards traditional gala hosted at the JAM hotel in Brussels on Monday.
Onuachu was named the 2020/21 Best Footballer of The Year after enjoying a stunning season with KRC Genk.
The Nigerian hotshot beat the duo of Club Brugge’s Dutchman Noa Lang and Beerschot’s forward Raphael Holzhauser to the honours.
The 26-year-old also scooped the top scorer award after smashing an incredible 33 goals in only 38 league games.
The former FC Midtjylland star made the headlines almost every week. He smashed 35 goals in all competitions to help Racing lift the Belgian Cup and finish runners-up on the First Division A table to champions Brugge.
The Nigerian striker has been a phenomenon all season for Genk and could be ready to take the step up to any of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Italian, French, and Spanish teams are reportedly keeping close tabs on the former Midtjylland ace, intending to snap him away from Genk in the summer transfer window.
