Huge boost for Villarreal as Chukwueze returns to training ahead of Europa League final

The Nigerian international has not played since he suffered an injury in the second leg of the Europa League semifinal against Arsenal

Samuel Chukwueze has handed Villarreal a massive boost ahead of their Europa League final clash against Manchester United next week.

Chukwueze has been missing for the Yellow Submarines for two weeks after picking up a muscle injury against Arsenal in the Europa second leg semifinal.

The injury was expected to keep him out for a month, which would’ve ruled him out of the showpiece against the Red Devils next week.

However, Chukwueze was pictured in training this morning with the rest of the Villarreal team. The Nigerian international also shared some pictures of himself in training on his Instagram stories.

Chukwueze’s return to training comes after Villarreal manager Unai Emery revealed he’s a doubt for the league clash against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Emery, however, confirmed he could feature against United on Wednesday. Should Chukwueze be fit to play, he would be a massive boost to Villarreal’s chances of causing an upset.

The Nigerian international has registered five assists and score one goal in the Europa League this season.
