The Nigerian has rediscovered his magic wand in recent weeks, and he was on song twice in another league clash
Terem Moffi is looking every bit a bargain €8 million buy after scoring twice for Lorient in their 3-2 defeat at Marseille.
The 21-year-old snapped out of a seven-game goalless run to net his side’s consolation goal in the 4-1 thrashing at Lens last weekend.
And he kept that performance up with the opening goal at the Stade Orange Velodrome to give FC Lorient a 19th-minute lead in their Ligue 1 faceoff against Marseille on Saturday.
That strike was the Nigerian forward’s second goal in as many matches for his side and his tenth of his maiden campaign in France.
However, Dmitri Payet and Pol Lirola turned the tie in Marseille’s favour three minutes after the break as the visitors again looked vulnerable in defence.
But Moffi dragged Lorient back on levelled terms in the 70th minute with his 11th league strike.
However, Lirola struck late to condemn Christophe Pellisier’s men to another disappointing loss, with relegation looking like a strong possibility for the Ligue 1 strugglers.
Moffi is doing is dreams of one day representing Nigeria no harm with his consistently excellent performances that mirrors Victor Osimhen’s displays for Lille in France last term.
Osimhen bagged 13 league goals for Lille in his only season with Les Dogues.
