Nigeria Move Up In The Latest FIFA Rankings

The 2013 African champions two victories in last months Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers have lifted them up in the latest FIFA rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved up four places in the latest FIFA ranking released today. The three-time African champions were previously ranked 36th but are now the 32nd best country in the world.

Nigeria played two matches in the last window, beating the Benin Republic and Lesotho in their final 2021 Afcon qualifiers.

The movement also means the Super Eagles are now the third-highest team in Africa after Algeria and Morocco dropped down in the rankings.

The current African champions dropped two places to rank 33rd in the world and fourth in Africa, while the Atlas Lions dropped from 33rd to 34th in the world.

Senegal remain Africa’s number one nation, but they’ve dropped two places out of the top 20. The Teranga Lions are now ranked 22nd in the world, while Tunisia stay second in Africa and 26th in the World.

Meanwhile, Belgium remain the number one ranked team in the world, with France, Brazil, England and Portugal rounding up the top five.
