The Gers are already champions, but bragging rights were still at stake in the clash against their Old Firm rivals on Sunday afternoon
Super Eagles defender notched an assist to help Rangers play a 1-1 draw against Celtic in their Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park.
Rangers went into the game as the champions, but pride was still at stake in the third Old Firm derby of the season.
Steven Gerrard’s men had won the first two 1-0 and 2-0 respectively, but they found themselves behind on Sunday courtesy of a header from Mohamed Elyounoussi.
The Norwegian footballer headed in a cross from Odsonne Édouard to put Celtic ahead in the 27th minute. But their lead didn’t last long as Leon Balogun set up Alfredo Morelos for Rangers’ equaliser in the 38th minute.
The Super Eagles star knockdown from a corner was headed in by Morelos to restore parity for the Gers. But despite both teams creating enough chances in the second half, they had to share the spoils.
It’s a result that preserves Rangers unbeaten run, while Celtic ended a run of three losses against their Old Firm rivals.
