Kelechi Iheanacho Nominated For Two Premier League Awards

The Super Eagles star has been brilliant in front of goal for the Foxes in recent games and has been rewarded for the performances

Kelechi Iheanacho has been nominated for the Premier League’s March player of the month following his incredible performance for Leicester City.

The Nigerian international is up against Harry Kane, Illan Meslier, Riyad Mahrez, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Christensen, Leandro Trossard and Luke Shaw.

Iheanacho was a man in form in March, scoring five goals in three consecutive games. The 24-year-old’s first goal of the month was a fantastic volley in the 1-1 draw against Burnley, which was also nominated for the goal of the month.

He backed up the performance with another goal in Leciester’s 2-1 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium. While he was impressive in the two games, Iheanacho best moment of the month came in the Foxes 5-0 win over Sheffield United.

The former Manchester City star made history as he scored his first Premier League hat-trick to become the fifth Nigerian player to score three times in a Premier League match.

He also scored twice in the 3-1 win over Manchester United, although that was a FA Cup quarter-final clash.
