Only one player is being awaited to have a full house in the national team camp as twenty-three Europe, and NPFL-based stars join the coaching crew in training on Tuesday morning
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, and Porto fullback Zaidu Sanusi breezed into the Super Eagles camp on Tuesday morning to bring the total numbers of players on the ground to twenty-three.
Preparations are approaching top gear as Nigeria get ready to make the trip to Porto Novo, where the Super Eagles battle the Benin Republic for a place in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Next on the schedule is the Crocodile of Lesotho on March 30th at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, the last Group L match of this qualifying campaign for the three-time African champions.
A point from those two games will guarantee Nigeria’s spot at the continent’s premier competition in Cameroon next year.
Ahead of the games, the Super Eagles opened camp in Lagos, and the light training in the gym started on Monday morning, with full training to commence on Tuesday evening.
So far, only Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to report to camp, with Soccernet.ng compiling the list of players in camp.
