Napoli take on Juventus in their Italian Supercup clash at the Stadio Città del Tricolore, but Gli Azzurri will be without their Nigerian star
Victor Osimhen is not part of the Napoli squad that will take on Juventus on Wednesday night with the Nigerian international still self-isolating away from the club.
Osimhen tested positive for coronavirus following his return to Napoli after celebrating his 22nd birthday in Nigeria last month.
The 22-year-old was seen dancing with a group of friends on his birthday, but he and his friends failed to observe the Covid-19 guidelines.
And on his return to Naples, the ex-Lille attacker tested positive for the virus. Following his positive test, Osimhen was on self-isolation for ten days but tested positive once again after the isolation period.
He went through another test last Friday, and once again returned a positive test. Although the Napoli squad that will play Juventus tonight all returned a negative test, Osimhen was not part of the group as he is still self-isolating.
And as a result, the Nigerian international was not named in the squad for the big clash. However, he is expected to undergo another test this week ahead of Napoli’s Serie A match at Hellas Verona.
