Moffi Inspires Lorient To Rare Ligue 1 Win; Aribo Helps Rangers Remain Unbeaten

Terem Moffi got his fourth goal in four games to power Lorient to a 3-2 victory over fellow strugglers Dijon in a Ligue 1 clash on Wednesday evening.

The Nigerian forward is a man in the form of his life, having found the back of the net in consecutive matches against Nice, Monaco, and Bordeaux.

And he was at it again just before the hour mark at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir when he outsmarted the opposing defence to slam home his fifth Ligue 1 goal.

Goals from Moffi, Trevor Chalobah, and a late Racioppi’s own goal helped the hosts overpower Dijon, with the visitors’ goals coming from Ecuele Manga and Mama Balde.

The win, just Lorient’s fourth in 20 games, lifts the club off the foot of the league table and takes them to within three points of Nantes in 17th and safety.

In Scotland, Joe Aribo was the inspiration behind Rangers’ 23rd league victory of the campaign away at Hibernian.

The Nigerian playmaker provided the assist to Morelos 51st-minute winner in their 1-0 win over their high flying hosts.

Steven Gerrard’s men now boast a record of 23 wins, three draws, and zero defeats in 26 games while extending their lead over champions Celtic to 23 points.

Aribo has been crucial to the Gers’ seemingly unstoppable surge towards the league title, chipping in with five goals in 19 games.
