The Gers are proving to be too strong for every club in the Scottish top-flight after a blazing start at home to Ross County helped extend their lead at the league table
Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo opened his goal account for the new year with the third goal as Rangers cruised to a 5-0 win over Ross County at the Ibrox Stadium.
Aribo was spectacular all afternoon and was instrumental as the Gers raced to a 3-0 halftime lead against the Staggies and completed the rout after the break.
Ryan Kent slammed home the opener after just six minutes before Filip Helander made it two just before the half-hour mark, following a missed James Tavernier penalty.
Aribo then added a third – his fifth goal of the season – in the 37th minute, pouncing on a Tavernier cross to beat the opposing goalkeeper.
Ryan Jack made it four-nil to the hosts in the 66th-minute before Connor Goldson added gloss to the scoreline nine minutes before time.
The latest victory sees Steven Gerrard’s men extend their unbeaten start to the season, with the Light Blues now a staggering 23 points above champions Celtic.
