Super Eagles Star Brilliant As He Wins First Major Trophy

The Portuguese Super Cup took place at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro on Wednesday night, and one Nigerian star ended up winning his first major trophy

Super Eagles star Zaidu Sanusi was in impressive form on Wednesday night as FC Porto beat Benfica to win the Portuguese Super Cup.

It was Sanusi’s first major trophy at either club or international level. Sanusi has wasted little time to settle down at Porto following his move from Santa Clara in the summer.

The 23-year-old was impressive from start to finish last night as goals from Sérgio Oliveira, and Luis Díaz secured Porto’s 22nd Portuguese Super Cup.

Sanusi was diligent in his defensive duties with three interceptions and four successful tackles. He also won seven of the nine duels he faced and was not dribbled past throughout the game.

The Nigerian international has now featured 15 times for the Dragons this season, scoring twice and registering one assist.
