Peter Olayinka Hints At Why He Extended His Contract At Slavia Prague

The one-cap Super Eagles star recently extended his contract with the Czech champions and has expressed his delight in the extension

Peter Olayinka has revealed he is happy to extend his contract with Slavia Prague, hinting he signed because he is now enjoying his football at the club.

Olayinka joined the Cezch champions in 2018 from Belgian side, Gent, for a fee of € 3.20m. He did not take long to settle at the club, scoring six times and providing three assists in 20 league matches in his debut season.

He continued to impress the following season and even gave eye-catching performances in Champions League games against Inter Milan and Barcelona.

As a result of his brilliant form since arriving, Slavia decided to extend his current deal until 2023, and it’s a decision that makes Olayinka happy.

“I am happy that I could extend my contract in Slavia and that I can continue playing for the club. It is very important to see that the club trusts me and that they want me to stay. It is pushing me forward,” Olayinka told the club’s website.

The former Gent striker also hinted he signed because he’s enjoying his time at the club.

“My first year here was quite difficult, but now I am enjoying myself, and everything is going good. This season and the last one were both fantastic,” the 25-year old concluded.

Olayinka has won two Czech league titles, one MOL Cup and Czechoslovak Supercup since joining Slavia Prague.
