“Nigeria Must Fall” – Ghana’s Satellites Charged To Seek Revenge Against The Flying Eagles

The Nigeria U-20 national team convincingly defeated their Ghanaian counterparts the last time the two sides met, and their West African brothers are keen on claiming their pound of flesh

The Flying Eagles will, on Wednesday at the Stade Charles de Gaulles, seek a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU B U-20 tournament when they confront a motivated Ghana’s Black Satellites seeking revenge for the loss suffered two years ago.

The Flying Eagles, in December 2018, rallied from behind to beat the Black Satellites of Ghana 4-2 and reach the semi-finals of the WAFU Under-20 Championship in Togo.

That defeat still hurts many in Ghana, and the West African nation will be presented with a chance to pay back Nigeria in their own coin when the two teams face off in Porto Novo later today.

And no matter what it takes, Ghana must make every effort to beat Nigeria in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 championship in Benin, says the Vice Chairman of the Black Satellites Management Committee, Albert Commey.

“Play the game already in your mind even before tomorrow comes. You need total concentration and therefore must eschew things that can potentially affect your concentration,” Commey told the Ghanaian players as per the GhanaFA.

“Tomorrow, no matter what, Nigeria must fall.

“When the Satellites do well, it reflects on the future of the Black Stars. So, if you want to be counted among the standouts, it all starts from tomorrow [against Nigeria]. The first match is very important. Let’s take all three points.”

The Black Satellites drew a bye in the first round of games with the meeting against the Flying Eagles their first group match.

Nigeria managed a draw in their first tie against Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday, and with only three teams in Group B, the seven-time African champions require a win to advance to the knock-out rounds.
