The former Arsenal star was once again impressive as the Toffees beat the Foxes in a match that involved three Nigerian players
Alex Iwobi came up against Wilfred Ndidi, and Kelechi as Leicester City hosted Everton in a Premier League encounter, and it was the men from Merseyside that ran out 2-0 winners.
It was Everton’s third win in their last four league games, and Iwobi once again played a vital role in the win. The Nigerian international played in a more attacking right-wing role having featured mostly as an unorthodox right-wing back for Everton this season.
Iwobi was a trouble for the Foxes defenders down the flank, making four successful dribbles from the four he attempted.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men took the lead in the 21st finish through Richarlison, who fired home a curler following a pass from Iwobi. The goal ensured Everton went into the break with the lead.
The second-half kicked off with Leicester trying to get back into the game, but it was the Evertonians that doubled their advantage courtesy of a Mason Holgate strike in the 72nd minute.
Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, reacted to the strike by sending on Kelechi Iheanacho for Nampalys Mendy, but the Super Eagles star could not drag the Foxes back into the game as Everton held on for a vital win.
