The four-time Africa Best Player is in red-hot form, netting a double again as the Spanish league leaders maintained their perfect start to the campaign with another away triumph
Asisat Oshoala netted a brace to help Barcelona Ladies hand a 1-6 thrashing to Deportivo de la Coruna at the Ciudad Deportiva de Abegondo on Tuesday afternoon to make it ten league wins in ten matches.
Fresh from a 6-0 humbling of Sevilla a few days ago, Lluis Cortes’ side was in no mood to take their foot off the pedal, racing to a 4-0 lead in the opening 45 minutes.
Oshoala found the back of the net in the 27th minute after a Jenni Hermoso double had put the visitors in the game’s driving seat. Aitana Bonmati then made it four, ten minutes before the half time break.
Oshoala opened the floodgates of goals five minutes into the second half with a fine finish before Alba Merino for Depor, and Marta Torrejon for Barca traded goals in the 64th and 78th minutes, respectively.
Oshoala’s latest brace brings her tally for the season to ten goals in 12 games across all competitions for the Spanish champions.
The 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations winner has nine goals in ten league matches and one in two Champions League appearances.
Oshoala’s efforts have helped Barcelona Ladies sit comfortably at the top of the league with 30 points in 10 games, three points more than second-placed Granadilla Tenerife, a team that has played two games more.
