Following the completion of matchday four of the Champions League, UEFA have released its team of the week, and one Nigerian star makes the lineup
Super Eagles star Zaidu Sanusi has been included in the matchday four UEFA Champions League team of the week after his exploits in Porto’s win over Olympique Marseille.
Sanusi gave a man of the match performance as he scored the opener in the Dragons win against their French hosts at the Orange Velodrome Stadium.
The Nigerian international opened the scoring for Porto in the 39th minute, firing home from close range. Aside from his goal, Sanusi was also impressive all round with three tackles, eight interceptions and an 80% pass accuracy.
As a result of his display, he was included in the team of the week for matchday four. Sanusi is part of a three-man defence that includes Nico Elvedi and Oscar Wendt.
Robin Gosens and Sergino Dest the occupy the wingback roles while Kingsley Coman, Lars Stindl and Bruno Fernandes formed a midfield trio.
Martin Braithwaite and Ciro Immobile lead the attack to complete the lineup.
