‘Never Let Success Get To Your Head’- Leon Balogun Reacts To Sierra Leone Result

Leon Balogun was philosophical after Nigeria threw away a four-goal lead in the first leg of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

The Super Eagles had gone four goals up in the first 30 minutes of their Afcon qualifier against Sierra Leone and were on course for an emphatic victory.

A brace from Alex Iwobi and one strike each from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze had put Nigeria in a comfortable position at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.

But the Leone Stars pulled one back in the 41st minute before scoring three times in the last 20 minutes to seal a miraculous comeback.

It was a disappointing result for Nigeria, but Balogun says the team has learnt a lesson from the game and he is sure they will come out on top in the second leg.

The Rangers star took to Twitter to react to the game, saying: ‘Lesson to learn from last night: never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart.’  We will come out on top of this

Balogun and his teammates will get the opportunity to bounce back immediately with the return leg set for Tuesday at the Siaka Steven’s Stadium, Freetown.
