NPFL champions Plateau United and Nigeria’s other representatives Enyimba International Football Club, Kano Pillars, and Rivers United have been drawn against clubs from Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Equatorial Guinea, respectively, in their hunt for continental glories.
Plateau United, who emerged champions after the NPFL was abruptly stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are billed to face Simba FC of Tanzania in the CAF Champions League.
The Jos-based side will be representing Nigeria at the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League alongside two times African champions, Enyimba International Football Club.
The Aba Elephants have been drawn to trade tackles with Burkina Faso club Rahimo FC.
The first leg of the preliminary round of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League kicks off on the weekend of November 27-29, while the return leg is scheduled between 4th – 6th of December.
Plateau United first play host to Simba FC while Enyimba have an away date first with Rahimo FC.
Kano Pillars FC and Rivers United are Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Maisu Gida will play ASC Jaraaf of Senegal in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup. The winner of the tie to face FC San Pedro of Ivory Coast in the second preliminary round.
Pillars qualified for the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup after emerging as the 2019 Aiteo Cup (FA Cup) winners.
Nigeria’s second representative, Rivers United, have been drawn against Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea.
The first leg matches in the preliminary round will be played alongside the CAF Champions League matches.
