The Nigerian winger is considered surplus to requirement at the Stamford Bridge, but he was still given a run-out as Chelsea played out a score draw with AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday afternoon.
Chelsea’s Victor Moses scored in a 1-1 draw with Wimbledon in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Cobham Training Centre in a game where Frank Lampard gave a host of loanees, including Danny Drinkwater, a chance to impress.
But the former Super Eagles star’s goalscoring display may still not be enough to push him into the Blues manager’s plans for the current campaign.
Where Moses, who spent last term on loan partly at Fenerbahce and Inter Milan, will play his football this season is still not clear. The 29-year-old has a contract with the London giants until the summer of 2022, though.
Elsewhere, Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke came off the bench to find the back of the net as Rheindorf Altach rallied late to claim a 3-1 victory at Gurten in the Austrian Cup.
The 34-year-old Ogbuke, who only recently joined Altach, was afforded only 27 minutes on the pitch, but it was all he needed to inspire the visitors to a come-from-behind win at the Park21-Arena Gurten.
The hosts took the lead early in the second half moments after seeing goalkeeper Wilmer sent off and held on bravely for the most part.
But Altach’s Netzer equalized in the 89th-minute. Ogbuke then completed the comeback moments later before Fischer sealed the win deep into injury time.
Th former Schalke star will hope to continue his fine start to life in Austria when Altach make the trip to Salzburg in a Bundesliga face-off at the weekend.
