England’s U-21 side face Kosovo and Austria in the Euro U-21 qualifiers, but they would have to do it without Eberechi Eze.
According to Skysports, the 22-year-old has pulled out from Aidy Boothroyd’s squad with no reason. However, it could be due to his recent move to the Premier League.
Eze recently completed a 20 million pounds (including add-ons) move from Queens Park Rangers to Crystal Palace.
And with the new Premier League season set to start in ten days, the former Arsenal youth star probably decided to withdraw from England squad to familiarise himself with his new club.
Eze’s withdrawal from England’s youth squad is also a boost for the Nigerian national team, who are hoping the Eagles new signing would don their colours at international level.
Although born in England, Eze qualifies to play for the Super Eagles through his parents and trained with the squad previously.
The ex QPR playmaker is yet to decide on his international future but admitted it is a rare honour to be wanted by both countries.
