His last game was in the 3-0 victory over ST. Johnstone, but Leon Balogun was back again on the pitch finally as Rangers returned to winning ways in the Scottish top-flight
Leon Balogun finally made his return from injury in Rangers 5-1 win over Motherwell FC on Sunday. Balogun has not played for the Gers since last month.
Although the Super Eagles star was in the lineup for the 4-0 win over Dundee United two weeks ago, he had to withdraw after he pulled his hamstring during warmup.
But the 32-year-old made his return on Sunday, coming on for Filip Helander in the 60th minute as Rangers thrashed Motherwell.
James Tavernier opened the scoring for Steven Gerrard’s men from the penalty spot 12 minutes into the game before Jordan Jones doubled the lead in the 28th minute.
Another penalty from Tavernier in the 37th minute gave Rangers a three-nil half-time lead. A brace from Cedric Itten in the 75th and 80th minute added gloss to the scoreline.
Gerrard would, however, be disappointed his side did not keep a clean sheet after Motherwell got a consolation in injury time courtesy of a George Edmundson own goal.
