After spending the last campaign in Turkey at Gaziantep FK, former Manchester City signing Olanrewaju Kayode returns to the country join another club
Super Lig side Çaykur Rizespor has secured the services of Super Eagles forward Olarenwaju Kayode temporarily ahead of the 2020/21 season, reports Turkish publications, Diyagonal.
Owned by Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk, Kayode spent last season at Gaziantep, scoring ten goals and providing seven assists in all competitions for the side.
The 27-year-old attacker’s decent exploits have not seen him force his way into the first-team picture at his parent club, opening the door for another loan spell abroad.
Rizespor have moved to capture Kayode, though, as coach Stjepan Tomas continues to look for attacking options for one of the league’s lowest scoring sides last term.
33-year-old French international Loic Remy has already been added to the squad and it appears Kayode could be the club’s next signing.
Kayode has a contract with Shakhtar Donetsk – the club he joined from Manchester City two years ago – until 2023.
