Iheanacho Present Ndidi Absent As Leicester Stun Manchester City

The Foxes were without their defensive midfielder, but it was not a problem as they upset the odds by recording a stunning victory over Pep Guardiola’s men at the Etihad Stadium

Leicester City came from behind to record a comprehensive victory over Manchester City in the Premier League clash between the two sides on Sunday.

The Foxes, who were without the injured Ndidi, got off to a worst possible start after former star, Riyad Mahrez, put City ahead in the fourth minute.

The goal was supposed to set the tone for City, but it was Leicester that drew level courtesy of a penalty from Jamie Vardy in the 37th minute. Vardy had been tripped inside the box by Kyle Walker, and he dusted himself up to take the resultant penalty.

Both sides went into the break with the scores levelled, but it was Leicester that came out firing following the restart.

Brendan Rodgers men took the lead for the first time nine minutes after the restart courtesy of another Vardy strike.

The former England international then completed his hat-trick four minutes later from the spot after he was once again tripped in the box.

James Maddison brilliant strike from the edge of the box made it four before Nathan Ake’s header pulled one back for City.

With Vardy tired, Brendan Rodgers brought on Super Eagles striker, Kelechi for the Englishman in the 85th minute.

Although the Nigerian did not have any impact on the game, Youri Tielemans penalty two minutes from time made it a comprehensive win for the Foxes.  The victory takes Leicester top of the table with three wins from three matches.
