The Nigerian football family was thrown into a state of mourning after one of its players passed away on Sunday in Senegal
Former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles goalkeeper, John Felagha, has died at the young age of 26. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced in a statement on their Twitter page that Felagha passed away in Senegal on Sunday.
Felagha was born on July 27, 1994, and he was part of the Flying Eagles squad that finished second at the 2009 U-20 World Cup hosted by Nigeria.
He started his career at Aspire Academy before joining Belgian side AS Eupen in 2012. However, his time with the Pandas lasted just for one year, making just two appearances for the side.
After leaving Eupen, he was without a club and had to cut his career short due to persistent injuries. Details about his burial will be communicated soon.
He was survived by his sisters and uncles.
