Odion Ighalo Misses Out On FA Cup Team Of The Season

Fans have snubbed the Nigerian striker in the starting lineup of the 2019-20 Emirates FA Cup season

Shrewsbury Town star Jason Cummings has beaten the trio of Manchester United’s Odion Ighalo, Norwich City’s Adam Idah, and Port Vale center forward Tom Pope to the FA Cup Team of the Season.

The four strikers were nominated for one of the two striking roles in the team, but Ighalo only won 34.7% of the votes, to come second behind Cummings who claimed 37.7% in the polls.

The former Watford forward only joined the Red Devils in January and missed three FA Cup matches – the third round and replay vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers plus the fourth round vs. Tranmere Rovers.

Yet the 32-year-old finished as Manchester United’s top scorer in the competition with three goals.

The former Super Eagles star bagged a brace against Derby County, before scoring against Norwich City.

But Ighalo and United exited the competition at the semifinals, losing to Chelsea.

Arsenal emerged winners of the 2020 Emirates FA Cup, the Londoners record 14th title.
