After staying out of football action for nearly three months due to the coronavirus pandemic, Nigeria’s Rangers midfielder returned to the pitch recently to the delight of the club’s countless fans
Super Eagles’ midfielder, Joe Aribo, is just as excited as the Gers’ fans to be back in the colours of their beloved Glasgow Rangers.
The 23-year-old joined Steven Gerrard’s side on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic and has not disappointed at all.
In only his maiden season in Scotland, Aribo amassed 40 games and six goals for Rangers, including a Goal of the Season contender in a Europa League fixture against Portuguese side, Braga.
His delightful performances also earned the youngster a call-up to the Nigerian national team, where he has scored twice in four games, particularly excelling in a friendly tie against Brazil last October.
Aribo looked and felt good when Rangers managed a 2-1 victory over Hamilton Accies a couple of days ago to kick-off preparations for the 2020-2021 campaign.
And fans didn’t waste time in showering praises on the skilful midfielder on Twitter.
The season is not quite over for Rangers and Aribo, though, with a Europa League knockout round second leg tie against Bayer Leverkusen still to come. The German club went away with a 3-1 win at the Ibrox Stadium in March.
