Rodgers Fumes At Ndidi Handball

The Nigerian midfielder conceded a penalty early in the game from which Everton doubled their lead and, despite a spirited second-half display, it was another disappointing evening for Leicester

Foxes’ manager Brendan Rodgers is unhappy with the penalty decision against his team after Wilfred Ndidi was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

In a game where Everton had so much joy in the opening stages, the Toffees opened the scoring after Richarlison smashed home Anthony Gordon’s’s cross.

The home side then doubled their lead just three minutes from the penalty spot following Wilfred Ndidi’s handball, which was spotted by VAR.

Rodgers was left fuming after the game at that controversial call that his side never recovered from.

“I think it (the penalty) was so harsh,” LeicesterMercury quoted Rodgers.

“We’ve had so many of those that we haven’t had this year. It was difficult to go behind with that. It wasn’t clear and obvious.

“We were very good in the second half. We’re disappointed with the start. It’s something that has crept back into the game. We gave away a soft goal, but I thought the penalty was harsh. It took so long to be given.

“We had to change it to get ourselves in the game, and we were much better. We set out to start with that tempt, and we didn’t do that. We had enough of the ball, but it ended in disappointment.”

Iheanacho pulled one back for Brendan Rodgers” side in the 51st minute – five minutes after replacing Englishman Harvey Barnes.

But they could not get the equalizer, and ultimately suffered another crushing defeat, leaving them with no win in any of their four games since football restarted in England last month.
