Another Bad Day For Iwobi As Everton’s Winless Run Continues

in EPL, News, Nigeria

The Nigerian international was a second-half substitute but could not prevent Everton from suffering their second loss in three games

Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi was in action as Everton's were comprehensively beaten by Wolves in the premier league clash between the two sides on Sunday afternoon.

Iwobi scored in the reverse fixture at Goodison Park, but it was not enough to convince Carlo Ancelotti to hand him a start.

The game started with Wolves dominating possession but it was only until seconds before half-time that they found a breakthrough.

Lucas Digne was adjudged to have fouled Daniel Podence in the box, leaving Raul Jimenez to convert the resulting penalty.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men then doubled their advantage just a minute after the break courtesy of a Leander Dendoncker's header.

With his side two goals down, Everton's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, threw Alex Iwobi into the action, but the Nigerian international had little influence on the game.

Diogo Jota's perfect finish in the 74th minute then compounded Everton's woes. There were no more goals after, but it was a perfect day at the office for Wolves, while Ancelotti will be disappointed with yet another woeful display from his side.
