The Nigeria international has not been short of suitors after netting 22 goals in 52 league matches for both Sunderland and Bordeaux over the last couple of seasons
Josh Maja has revealed that he is looking forward to improving himself at Bordeaux next season, despite interests from Italian and British clubs in his services.
Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on bringing the former Sunderland striker back to England. At the same time, Celtic and Rangers are expected to continue their rivalry off the pitch in pursuit of the 21-year-old.
AC Milan are believed to have also trained their radars on Maja, who they see as the long-term replacement for the ageing Zlatan Ibrahimović.
But Maja may have shut the doors on leaving Bordeaux after setting personal and team targets for the coming campaign.
“Personally, I hope to start more matches, to have more experience,” Maja said, as quoted by Girondins4Ever.
“Obviously, last season, I was not able to play as much as I would have liked, so I hope to have more opportunities to play. I would like to be able to improve my level of play and be able to score.
“For the team, we have the objective of reaching the Top 6. I think we can be able to reach it if we give the best. We must continue to work hard, and I hope that we will have the chance to achieve this goal.”
Girondins Bordeaux had a disappointing campaign last term, with the former champions finishing in a lowly 12th position.
