Poland-based Dutch Midfielder Hails ‘Fantastic’ Nigerian Youngster

Accolades continue to gush in – this time from the man he replaced at the Abe Lenstra Stadion – for the young dribbling wizard, Chidera Ejuke

Cracovia ace Pelle van Amersfoort has revealed that he has been left impressed with Ejuke’s excellent displays in the colours of Heerenveen this season while expressing the hope that the exciting winger remains with the club next term.

Dutchman Van Amersfoort came through the ranks at Heerenveen going on to score nine goals and record ten assists in 90 Eredivisie games spread over five years.

But the attacking midfielder left the club for Polish side Cracovia on a free transfer last year, with the Frisians bringing in Ejuke from Norway’s Valerenga as his replacement.

The 22-year-old Nigerian forward has delivered one breathtaking performance after another in his debut campaign in the Netherlands, where he has already notched nine goals and four assists in just 25 matches.

Ejuke is also the Eredivisie’s number one dribbler with the youngster frequently wowing fans with his magical feet.

Dutch giants Ajax and Feyenoord are reportedly keeping tabs on Ejuke, but Van Amersfoort is hoping he could bless the Friesland with another year of his brilliance.

“I expect that he (Ejuke) will show something beautiful again,” Van Amersfoort told Radio Camataru via FeanOnline when asked about the Nigerian for the coming season.

“I am really a big fan of him, although it is not always that good. But to watch him.. You just want to keep watching him, that’s why you come to the stadium.

“I watch almost every game of Heerenveen or at least the highlights. I think Ejuke is a fantastic football player.

“When you see him on the ball, you know that something is going to happen. And then with his socks halfway down his shins, that just looks so nice,” Van Amersfoort concluded with a smile.
