He never featured for Chelsea’s first team, but Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, still managed to get under the skin of John Terry
Omeruo revealed he once had a bust-up with the former England international during his time at Chelsea. The 26-year-old was on Chelsea’s books for seven years before he signed for Leganes permanently last season.
Omeruo did not represent Chelsea in a competitive game and spent his entire Blues career on loan at different clubs. The Nigeria international was sent out on loan to Ado Den Hagg, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa, Alanyaspor and Leganes during his time at the Bridge.
But despite not featuring for the club, Omeruo still managed to get into the bad books for the former Blues captain, John Terry.
Speaking in an Instagram live session with Eagles Tracker, the 2013 AFCON winner revealed Terry once swore at him following a dangerous tackle in training.
However, Omeruo insists he’s not offended by the abuse he got from the Chelsea legend, and he would always remain his favourite defender of all time.
“There was a situation where I ‘chopped’ (tackled him to the floor) him and he was swearing at me, it was so funny later,” Omeruo said.
“I didn’t care what he was saying, I wanted to play for Chelsea, so I wasn’t concerned, but he’s a great guy. He is my favourite defender of all time.
