Ighalo Reveals His Only Regret Since Joining Manchester United

Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo says he regretted the missed chance against Chelsea when he made his debut for the Old Trafford giants, but it did not allow it to get to him.

The former Watford striker joined the English club from Shanghai Shenhua on loan in the January transfer window after Marcus Rashford was ruled out for a long time due to a back injury.

Ighalo replaced Anthony Martial for his Manchester United debut, and a few minutes later he was presented with a clear chance with only the keeper to beat, but his effort was thwarted by Chelsea goalkeeper, Willy Caballero.

The former Super Eagles striker didn’t allow the miss to affect his confidence as he recovered from it with his first goal for Manchester United against Club Brugge in the Europa League.  Still, he wished he had scored against a top side like Chelsea.

“I was not that angry, but I was thinking all through in the bus on the way to the airport that this would have been great scoring against a big team like Chelsea in my debut game for Manchester United,” Ighalo told Nana Aba Anamoah via Instagram Live.”

“I didn’t like that get into me too much because there are more games to play. I thought about it a bit and look forward.

He will be hoping to make his loan deal permanent when the premier league returns after it was suspended to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Ighalo has scored four goals in eight matches for Manchester United since joining in the January transfer window including a wonder strike against LASK in the Europa League.
