Coronavirus: See Carl Ikeme Plans For Vulnerable Nigerians At Home

The former Wolves goalkeeper had to retire from the national team due to an illness, but he still intends to give back especially amid the coronavirus pandemic

Carl Ikeme has revealed he would raffle the shirt he wore in his final Super Eagles game to raise money for motherless children and Nigerians in need.

The 33-year-old retired from football in 2018 after he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in 2017-although he is now in complete remission.

But before his retirement, Ikeme was the undisputed No. 1 for the Super Eagles, winning ten caps. His last game for Nigeria was a world cup qualifying clash against Zambia back in 2016.  Although his career was cut short, the former Wolves goalkeeper wants to give back to his country still.

And with the Coronavirus outbreak affecting a lot of people, Ikeme announced that he would offer the jersey he wore in the game against Zambia.  The ex-QPR shot-stopper took to his Twitter account to make this announcement.

He revealed that the money raised will be used to buy foods and supplies for motherless children in the country.
