Terrible News For Man City As Pep Guardiola Loses Mother To Coronavirus

A tragedy has hit the English champions after the deadly killer-virus claimed the life of their Spanish manager’s mother.

Dolors Sala Carrió, the mother of Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has been confirmed dead after suffering from complications caused by the deadly COVID-19 infection. She was aged 82 years.

A statement released by the club on their official website read:

“The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting Corona Virus.

“She was 82-years-old.

“Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family, and all their friends.”

The dreaded contagious disease, still without a known cure, is ravaging Europe with no signs of slowing down.

The pandemic has claimed more than 50,000 lives globally and affected over a million, with Spain the second worse hit country on the continent after Italy.

It has killed more than 13,000 people there, making Guardiola’s homeland one of the world’s hardest-hit nations.

Only last month, City’s manager donated €1m to Barcelona’s Angel Soler Daniel Foundation and Medical College towards the purchase of equipment to fight the disease in Spain.
