Luke Shaw Says Former Super Eagles Star Is A Tougher Opponent Than Ronaldo, Messi

The former Southampton star has faced the likes Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard, but none was a more difficult opponent than Victor Moses

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has revealed that ex-Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses, is the toughest player he has played against in his career.

Shaw, who started his career eight-years ago, faced Victor Moses on many occasions during the Nigerian’s time in the Premier League.

Moses is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Chelsea, but he’s spent most of his career in the Premier League with over 200 appearances in the English top-flight.

Although Chelsea are the parent owners of Moses, the Nigeria international spent most of his career on loan at rival clubs.

But he did play a vital role in the Chelsea team that won the 2016/2017 Premier League title under Antonio Conte.

The 29-year-old’s time in England was enough to create a lasting impression on Shaw, who says it is always a challenge when defending against Moses.

“People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton,” Shaw said on United’s official website.

“Maybe because I was so young. He was really quick, direct, strong, and that was a challenge for me.

“I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and [Eden] Hazard, and they were all so good, but I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.”
