With his current contract set to expire in June, Gernot Rohr’s time as Super Eagles manager continues to generate reactions.
Former Wolverhampton Wanderers star Seyi Olofinjana believes Gernot Rohr has done well so far as Super Eagles manager.
The former Nigeria international insists it will be unfair to criticise the work Rohr has done given the players at his disposal.
Rohr was appointed as Super Eagles manager in 2016, and during this period, he has led Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a game to spare.
The 66-year-old also led the team to a third-place finish at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. Also, he has been able to create a team full of youth garnished with a little bit of experience.
But despite his work, Rohr has divided opinion among the Super Eagles fans with some criticising his conservative style of play.
However, Olofinjana insists the criticism his harsh as Rohr has done a superb job since he arrived.
Speaking in an interview with Footballers Connect on Instagram, Olofinjana said: “With the players he has at his disposal, he has done quite well.
“He has managed those players quite well,” the former Stoke City midfielder added.
