Ekong Picks Between Messi And Ronaldo

The Super Eagles vice-captain star says he has played against some of football’s greats, but the Barcelona star stands alone at the top

William Troost Ekong has aired his opinion on football’s unending debate, which is the better player between Ronaldo and Messi.

The Udinese has played against the two footballing gods, and he believes there’s no player in the class of Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Messi are considered the two best players of their generation as both players have dominated the game for over ten years.

The two stars have had a long-standing rivalry, and it has created the never-ending argument on who is the better player between the two.

However, one player who has played against the two greats says there’s something special about Messi which other greats don’t have.

Ekong was in the Nigerian side that faced Messi’s Argentina at the 2018 World Cup, while he has come up against Ronaldo regularly in the Italian top-flight.

“I have played against both, also Neymar, Zlatan many greats of the game, but Messi is something different, Ekong said in an Instagram live interview with the Super Eagles account.

“The goal against us in St Petersburg, I can still see it in slow motion, not being able to do anything about it, He is special,” he added.
