The former Nigeria international has settled in well at Manchester United, and he was once again on target as the Red Devils beat LASK in the first leg of their last 16 Europa League clash.
Odion Ighalo scored his fourth goal in just three starts as Manchester United took the advantage in their Europa League encounter against Austrian side, LASK with a 5-0 win.
The 30-year-old fulfilled a childhood dream when he joined Solskjaer’s men from Shanghai Shenhua on a loan deal last January.
If there were any doubts when he signed, the former Watford man has now cleared them. He scored his first goal in his first start for the club which was in a Europa League clash against Club Brugge.
His second start came in the clash FA Cup clash against Derby, and he once again showed his class as he scored a brace in United’s comprehensive victory.
He continued in the same vein on Thursday night by opening the scoring with a finish only top strikers can execute.
The former Granada striker received a pass from fellow January signing, Bruno Fernandes, with two brilliant touches before finishing with aplomb.
His goal ensured United went into the break with the lead. Following the restart, Ighalo then turned provider as he set up Daniel James for the Red Devils second goal.
Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira late goals added gloss to the scoreline and also ensure United take a comfortable lead back to Old Trafford next week.
