Nigerian international Francis Uzoho has been out of action since mid-October, but he is becoming emotional as his comeback date draws closer.
The 21-year-old has issued an ‘I-miss-you’ message to football after spending a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Uzoho, who stood in between the goalposts for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, ruptured the ligaments in his knee in the 60th minute of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Brazil last October.
His rehabilitation process is proceeding as expected, with the 2013 U-17 World Cup winner anticipated to return to the field of play soon.
The Nwangele-born shot-stopper has, however, revealed how much he misses the sport.
“I never believed I could do without you for this long. Tears rolling down my cheeks on November 14, 2019, because I knew I would stay without you for a very long time.
“I’m thankful to God for giving me the strength to do without you so far. I have one more step to work very hard to be reunited with you again,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Nigerian is currently on loan to Cypriot side Omonia from Spanish Segunda club Deportivo de La Coruna.
Uzoho has been capped 16 times by the Eagles since making his debut in a 4-2 international friendly win over Argentina in November 2018.
