See What Former Newcastle Star Said About Odion Ighalo’s Move To Man Utd

The former Super Eagles striker joined Manchester United from Shangai Shenhua last month, and Andy Cole believes he will be eager to prove himself.

The Manchester United legend expects the club’s new signing Odion Ighalo to be a success at Old Trafford. Ighalo’s move to United divided the Red Devils fan base, but Cole believes he will be eager to prove his critics wrong.

Although Ighalo signed a deal that keeps him at Old Trafford until the end of the season, Cole expects his performances to earn him a permanent deal.

In his interview following his unveiling, Ighalo revealed he was Man Utd while growing up, and Cole was one of his idols.

Cole expects the former Watford man to transfer that passion for the club to the pitch and also make an impression that will shut his critics up.

“That’s what we are hoping for,” the former Newcastle star told Goal.com.’ There are no doubts that he will do just that. He is a big supporter of the football club, he’s a fan.

“He wants to come here and do what he can for Manchester United, play to the best of his ability.”

“He’s got Premier League experience from his time at Watford, he did well there. He made the move to China, but he’s coming back to England and will give it everything he’s got.

“Being a Manchester United fan, he will want to prove that he’s good enough for the club.”

Ighalo is expected to make his Man Utd debut against Chelsea on Monday, although the 30-year-old has been training away from United’s Carrington base.
