Rohr Wants Ighalo’s Return Following His Move To Man Utd

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has congratulated Odion Ighalo on his dream move to Manchester United, but he wants him to make a return to the National team.

Ighalo sealed a six-month loan move to United from Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day to fulfil a lifelong dream.

The former Watford was brought in to help solve United attacking struggles, and he will stay with the Red Devils until the end of the season.

It is Ighalo’s second spell in the English Premier League following a productive time with Watford between 2015-2017.

Following his move to the ‘Theatre of Dreams”, Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr expressed his delight, while he also revealed he wants him back in the Super Eagles squad.

Ighalo called time on his international career after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals.

But with the move to Old Trafford, Rohr says it’ll be the dream of any National team coach to have a player playing for Man Utd in his squad.

“We are very happy about the new team of Ighalo, Manchester United is a fantastic challenge for him, and I spoke already with him, and you know he is a very good player on and off the pitch, Rohr told AOIFootball

“If a player is playing in Manchester United each coach of national teams would like to have him. Our young players could learn a lot on the side of this great goal scorer,” Rohr concluded.

Before his retirement, Ighalo made 35 appearances in a Super Eagles shirt, scoring 16 goals.
