The Nigeria international has not played for Leicester since last month, but he could be back in contention to face Norwich on Friday night.
The Foxes take the trip to Carrow Road, and Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that one of his most valuable assets could be available for the clash against Daniel Farke’s men.
Wilfred Ndidi picked up a knee injury early last month and went under the knife. He was expected to be out for at least a month, but he made a quick return in Leicester’s 4-1 win over West Ham and the Carabao Cup Semi-final loss to Aston Villa.
However, he suffered a relapse and has since missed the Foxes last three league games. The Nigeria international has been unable to train fully with his teammates.
But in his press conference ahead of the clash against the Canaries, Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, revealed Ndidi has returned to full training, and he could feature on Friday night, although he urged for caution.
“Wilf Ndidi has been training, so we’ll see how he is on Friday,” Rodgers said in quotes obtained from Leicester City’s website.
“But if he’s not right for this week we’ll look for next week, which is good news for us. We have to be cautious. We don’t want to lose him again.
“When he came back it was deemed he was fit, and he felt good, but he had a slight reaction, so we just wanted to be sure he was right.
“We need to give it that period of time. When we feel it’s the right time, we’ll bring him back in for a really important part of the season for us.”
Ndidi has been a big miss for Leicester with the Foxes winless in all the League games he has missed since he picked up the injury.
The 26-year-old has played 26 times for Leicester this season, scoring twice and providing one assist.
