The Nigerian international can’t wait to get back to Premier League action and show fans how much he has improved in training.
Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi is confident that fans would see a better version of him when next he enters a football pitch, and he ascribes all credit for his improvement to Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian coach, regarded as one of the greatest of all time after winning the UEFA Champions League with two different teams, took over a struggling Toffees side and has completely changed their fortunes for the better.
Everton once appeared doomed for the relegation battle this campaign following a poor start to the season that cost Portuguese manager Marco Silva his job.
But with Ancelotti in charge, the Toffees are enjoying a rich run of form which has yielded 22 points from 11 matches.
Iwobi believes he is benefiting a lot from the former AC Milan and Chelsea coach, and it won’t take long before it becomes clear for all to see.
“I have grown up playing on the left or as a number 10, and he has combined the two [in one position],” Iwobi told evertonfc.com.
“It feels natural, and I am comfortable in the system, it has been bringing the best from me in training.
“The way he [Ancelotti] tells me to come inside is helping my body position, so I receive the ball in a better place [on the field].
“It means my first touch takes me where I should go, and I can come infield at the right time to be free and able to turn and play forward.
“He is helping me a lot, and I am benefiting in training.
“I feel I am getting better every day with him.”
Iwobi, 23, has made 21 appearances for Everton and scored on his first two starts for the Club.
