The Super Eagles star made a return to the Emirates with his Everton side, but it all ended in disappointment as Arsenal ran out 3-2 winners against an impressive Toffees side.
Iwobi grew up in the Arsenal ranks and made over 100 appearances for the first team before joining Everton for a reported fee of 35m pounds last summer.
He made his first appearance against his former club last December, but that only lasted for eleven minutes as he was taken off due to a hamstring injury.
However, he found more luck on his return to the Emirates although he ended up on the losing side. Carlo Ancelotti handed the 23-year-old a start, and he was on the pitch for 60 minutes before he replaced by Bernard.
As he walked off the pitch, the home fans gave him a standing ovation, appreciating him for the work he put in during his time at the club.
Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for Everton two minutes into the game, but Eddie Nketiah drew Arsenal level in 27th minute.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang gave Arteta’s men the lead for six minutes later, but Richarlison restored parity for the Toffees on the stroke of half-time.
Nevertheless, Aubameyang’s second of the evening just a minute after the break secured the victory for Arsenal.
