Transfers: Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze And The Nigeria Stars In The Eyes Of Europe’s Top Clubs

It’s the first day in January and with it comes the mid-season transfer window, a period the continent’s biggest clubs are expected to be back in the business of buying, selling and loaning.

Nigeria born talents, as always, are being targeted by top clubs and here are some of the juiciest bits of transfer rumours involving the country’s stars.

Leicester City’s midfield ace Wilfred Ndidi has been one of the Premier League’s standout performer and it’s no surprise that the former Genk hero is the subject of a cash-plus-player deal from Arsenal. (Daily Mail)

Up until the start of December, it was almost a given that Kelechi Iheanacho would be leaving Leicester City at least on a temporary deal considering his limited chances with the Foxes.

But after a blistering end to 2019, Brendan Rodgers would be unwise to let the former Manchester City striker depart in January even with the likes of Aston Villa dangling mega millions.

It may be difficult to prise Victor Osimhen away from Lille this window but Tottenham are among those who may still try to tempt the 13-goal hero to England. (SkySports)

Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a backup to top striker Tammy Abraham and it seems Bordeaux’s Nigeria youngster Josh Maja is the man the Blues may swoop on in the coming days. (The Sun)

Frank Lampard’s side could also make a big-money move for Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze to ease their attacking shortage. (Football Espana)

Emmanuel Dennis sprung to prominence this term after bagging a brace at the Santiago Bernabeu and it appears Manchester United are interested in taking the Club Brugge striker to the Old Trafford. (90 min)

Cyriel Dessers may only have joined Heracles Almelo in the summer but after netting 12 league goals for the mid tier Dutch side, the Belgian-Nigeria may be ready for another move with Cagliari lurking. (Soccernet Nigeria)
