Iheanacho Reveals Secrets To His Impressive Form

Nigeria international striker Kelechi Iheanacho has credited his teammates’ willingness to assist him during his trying times as one of the keys to him rediscovering his best form.

Kelechi Iheanacho revealed that without hard work on his part, and help from teammates he might not have returned to the top of his game.

The former Manchester City forward endured a difficult start to the season as he failed to feature in the league for the Foxes in the first four months of the season. He only got his first EPL minutes on the first day of December after impressing with two goals in two appearances in the League Cup.

The 23-year-old provided an assist and scored the winner in that game to help Leicester City overcome Everton 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho has not looked back since. With his goal in their 1-1 Carabao Cup semi-final first leg draw with Aston Villa on Wednesday, Iheanacho has now scored six times in eight appearances for the Foxes this campaign.

“I think obviously I played last season, but I’ve been working hard like all of the boys have,” Iheanacho said, according to quotes carried by Sports Mole.

“This season has been good for everyone – myself, my team-mates and the staff – everyone has really helped me so we’re happy with this season.

“I’ve really been working hard and hopefully there’s more of this to come.”

“The only thing I can do is be in charge of my performance and do the best I can and then, whatever happens, happens.
“So I’ve just got to keep delivering good performances and that’s all I can do. I’ve worked hard over the last few months to be ready when the chance came.

“Now it’s come I’ve just got to keep on doing what I’m doing then help the team as best I can.”

Iheanacho’s turnaround in form has also drawn praises from former Barcelona icon Gary Lineker who expressed his delight in seeing the Super Eagles star blossom under Brendan Rodgers.
